After deploying a new Fedora 21 virtual machine within VirtualBox on my development workstation, I observed that I did not have the option to enter “Seamless Mode” (offered by VirtualBox).
It’s necessary to install the Guest Additions manually.
WARNING, do not proceed if there are pending kernel packages pending installation. Make sure you’re up-to-date. On Fedora 21, this can be accomplished by:
If you see any packages returned, update your system:

$ sudo yum --disableexcludes=all update
Restart the virtual machine to boot from the new kernel:

$ sudo reboot
Mount the VirtualBox Guest Additions on the VirtualBox hypervisor tool-bar menu, by clicking “Devices” and then “Insert Guest Additions CD Image…”.
You should see the Guest Additions has been mounted, to confirm:

$ sudo mount | grep -i vbox
/dev/sr0 on /run/media/user/VBOXADDITIONS_4.3.20_96996 type iso9660 (ro,nosuid,nodev,relatime,uid=1000,gid=1000,iocharset=utf8,mode=0400,dmode=0500,uhelper=udisks2)
$ cd /run/media/user/VBOXADDITIONS_4.3.20_96996/
$ sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run

You should restart your guest to make sure the new modules are actually used

You may need to restart the hal service and the Window System (or just restart
the guest system) to enable the Guest Additions.
